----------------------------------------------------------
The steps for organizing the sixth edition of the Festival Kreol are engaged. Invitations were sent to several international artists, whose group Magic System, Alpha Blondy and the singer Reyel Colonel.
Large sizes are expected in Mauritius in December. After the passage of Diana King at the 5th Festival Kreol, Mauritians can expect to live to see the group of international renown, Magic System, known for his hit A Gaou Oran. It is our responsibility as invitations were sent to Alpha Blondy, famous for Brigadier Sabari, Jerusalem and Sweet Fanta Diallo and Colonel Reyel known for his song He and Miss Valerie.
A Steering Committee was established for the event and it is the Minister of Tourism, Michael Sik Yuen, who in the chair. However, the date and venue of the annual event have not yet been set. Moreover, the Tourism Minister was asked about this during the parliamentary session of Wednesday, November 9th.
Michael Sik Yuen in response to a question by opposition MP Kavy Ramano who wanted to know the budget for organizing the concert, which usually extends over several days. Michael Sik Yuen has only to declare that nothing has been finalized yet.
According to our information, the Department of Arts and Culture is not involved in the preparations for this event.Recall that this concert is an annual event aimed at promoting the Creole language and culture.
Usually, such an event not only brings a wealth of local artists but also those of the Indian Ocean. Last year, Mauritius hosted the famous Jamaican singer Diana King. It has evolved on the stage of Salines, Port Louis, along with the Reunion Samantha Nourry and local artists such as Menwar, Alain Ramanisum, Rasinn, and Zotsa Otentikk Street Brothers (OSB) Crew.
Note that Rodrigues organized another Festival Kreol. It will be held from November 28 to December 4 at Marshall and The Farm. A number of activities including conferences, debates, plays, exhibitions of photographs and paintings and a grand concert of the Indian Ocean are showing.
