Captation of water: The CWA wants to build a dam on the Rivière-des-Anguilles
----------------------------------------------------------
The Central Water Authority (CWA) is planning to build a dam on the Rivière-des-Anguilles to feed the South Water.
This dam could allow a flow of 40,000 cubic meters of water per day. The goal is to meet water demand until 2050.
The CWA has launched expressions of interest for this project. Hopefully, the contract for the consultant to be awarded in May 2012 and the actual work should begin in October 2013 and ended in December 2015. The project will include four service reservoirs and pipes would be a key length of 40 km. The work is funded by the Mauritian government or an international funding agency. First of all, the CWA looks for a consultant to prepare technical drawings to launch later tenders.
Six consultants will be short listed.
The CWA reserves the construction of facilities related to the dam downstream of it, including the construction of a wastewater treatment water service reservoir and the main water supply.
